So we're getting our assessment soon, and I was brainstorming some ideas about what film I should make. I like drama, comedy and thriller films (and pretty much all genres except for western...) so I'd like to create my film based on my favourite genres. I will list my ideas for the three genres below.
DRAMA:
-Girl wakes up one night (girl is about five-seven years old). She hears father yelling as he leaves her mother and family. The last thing she sees is the golden watch on his wrist. A few years later she is seen at a father's day school event. She is the only one who's father isnt there. There are a few shots similar to this, as the girl wishes her father were here. One day she boards a train and sees his watch. She smiles.
-Girl finds photo album. She flicks through it and the pictures trigger memories. The memories show how the girl had a best friend. It is later revealed that they had a fight and never made up since her best friend died.
THRILLER:
-Some sort of film where someone is being chased?
COMEDY:
-Mockumentary-style film about the different types of people on the Gold Coast.
I think that a drama film would be great to produce because I have good ideas about cinematographic techniques as well as ideas on mise-en-scene with lighting helping to portray the mood.
